How Holy Spirit Adorns Everything?

I read an interesting passage from my daily bible devotion, “How holy spirit adorns everything”. I was so surprised how beautifully he adorns everything and if he can adorn the nature around us, can’t he adorn us beautifully?

Job 26: 13 says, by his spirit, he adorned the heavens

What all the spirit adorns? He adorns the skies, the heaven, the glowing bright sun in the day, the moon and stars for the night, the beautiful sunrise, the sunset and not forgetting the clouds which float like a cotton ball. Let us pause for a moment and look upon the skies and go in awe of his creation. I wonder in amazement when I see how he calls each one of his creation by a name.

Isaiah 40:26 says, He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by the name. If he can keep track of all the stars, imagine his might and strength.

Psalm 147: 4,5 says, Great is our Lord and mighty in power, His understanding is infinite.

I spoke so much about nature. Now you may think whether the holy spirit will adorn only the skies and nature and not us.

Psalm 149: 4 tells us, For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; He adorns the humble with salvation.

So how can we let the holy spirit to adorn us? Is the outward adornment will help the holy spirit? No; A man requires an inner adornment. What is an inner adornment?

Apostle Paul in 1 Peter 3:3,4 Do not let your adornment be merely outward- arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on of apparel; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. This verse clearly talks about spiritual adornment.

In this wicked world, how is our spiritual adornment? The verses clearly say God loves only the clean heart and spiritual adornment.

Isaiah 61:10 say I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he has clothed, me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Isaiah says Jesus is the bridegroom and he is happily filled with spiritual adornment.

A spiritual adornment is possible? Verses clearly say God adorns the humble heart. Each day we spend much time on clothes, makeup and glorifying otherworldly things. Even I do the same, but instead what if we dressed our soul with love? We couldn’t see many cold-hearted people around. What if we spent much time polishing our heart, wiping imperfections so that we can let others know we are lovable like Jesus.

Let’s think for a moment and see how we can accessorize our life with kindness, compassion and willingness to help others.

I am going to try for the life to accessorize myself with kindness and empathy, because inner beauty will never fail us. I know it’s very hard for the flesh to practise this, but when we let the holy spirit to adorn us, we can overcome the flesh and become humble and loved.

How about you?
