It takes a village to build a school. Rain School is a poignant narrative that illuminates the obstacles children encounter in their pursuit of education and the remarkable endeavours individuals make to establish schools. The writer, a former Peace Corps volunteer in Chad Africa, derived inspiration from personal encounters to pen this book.

In Chad, the older students take on the role of guiding the younger ones when school starts. When Thomas, a curious boy, arrives at school, he is surprised to find that there are no classrooms or desks. The teacher hands out the trowels and announces that they will build the school together. They make mud bricks and construct a roof out of grass and saplings. Despite the unconventional learning environment, Thomas loves learning and discovers something new every day. By the end of the school year, the students are filled with knowledge. However, just as the rainy season approaches, the schoolhouse dissolves and they must start again in September.

The fascinating story behind the creation of bubble gum began in the early 1920s at a small candy factory in Philadelphia owned by the Fleer family. Walter Diemer, an accountant worked on the books and balanced the budgets. “He knew lots about math but not much about gum.” As the company outgrew its laboratory space downstairs, a new, experimental laboratory was set up in a room adjacent to his office. Walter became curious and learned that the company was trying to make a new type of chewing gum.

Walter wanted to give it a try with the gum and started experimenting with various mixtures. After much trial and error, Walter finally discovered a concoction that produced bubbles when chewed.
He added flavours and colours to the gum before distributing it to local stores, even teaching people how to blow bubbles. Despite never profiting from his invention, Walter found contentment in knowing that he made people happy.

This story follows the life of Lola, a young girl

This story follows the life of Lola, a young girl who embarks on a journey to discover her roots with the help of her family and friends. Although the exact location is not mentioned, it is clear that the story is based on the history of the Dominican Republic.

The book starts by introducing Lola's school, which she attends with students from all over the world. As an infant, Lola was brought to the United States, so she had no memories of the land of her birth ie the island. When her teacher asked the class to draw a picture of their first country, Lola asked her family and friends about their experiences in the region and what stood out the most to them.

The vivid illustrations and poetic writing of Islandborn make it a tribute to creativity, diversity, and the power of imagination to link us to our families, our history, and ourselves.

The book walks us through each Tamil month and its associated Tamil festivals. The idea is intriguing, but I would have preferred it if it didn't lean toward a specific religion.

There is a Tamil calendar, and people use it just like the English calendar. Children must be taught about Tamil history and culture as well as the calendar. But the months of the Tamil Calendar have great significance and are deeply rooted in the faith of Tamil Hindus.

Children will enjoy this book's vibrant drawings as they learn about the Tamil calendar and the local temple festivals that fall throughout each month.

An informative book about Tamil culture and certainly a must for city kids to know the heritage they come from. Overall, an excellent book that is specific to one faith if that is what you are looking for. However, you can check out this book if you want to make sure your children are aware of many religions, their customs, and their cultures. The Whale Who Refused To Poo By Daniel Kim and Benjamin Kim

An orphaned baby whale is having a tough time in the ocean, as he's become very shy due to being alone. He wishes that the fish and plankton would stop following him around, so he could find some peace and quiet. But the fish and plankton seem to be fascinated by this little whale, so they keep following him wherever he goes. He wanted to get away from them badly because he was ashamed to poop in front of them. The little whale always takes a journey to the bottom of the ocean to poop. Little did he know that he would stumble upon a scholarly octopus who would teach him an important lesson about pooping.

Now that it is armed with this newfound knowledge, it is ready to return to the surface and poop confidently in front of all the fish. Follow along as the little whale embarks on this unexpected adventure and discovers the importance of pooping at the right place.

Daniel and Benjamin are teen authors and they have done an incredible job in writing this beautiful book filled with interesting information.

This beautiful book explores the activities done by racially diverse young children in their homes, neighbourhoods. Their actions are simple, like waking up their sibling, tying their shoelaces, collecting garbage in local parks, and helping neighbours. Their parents are equally participating in their actions and there is no gender-based role specified in this book. Each child or adult does a designated action that helps the people around them and which in turn makes the community more fun and when the community joins together, the world indeed becomes a better place.

I came across this beautiful book where my parents

I came across this beautiful book where my parents asked me to pick a book for a very cute boy's birthday. What captured my attention was the great artwork and how the author portrayed the magnificent God's creation story with a bit of twist to capture the attention of the young children.As we all know God created the world in six days and each day he dedicated himself to creating new and marvellous things. He had a plan and a purpose for each creation. But, day six was so special to him and he created humans who were just like him. The author emphasised beautifully why the sixth-day creation is so magnificent and marvellous.

So a question for you, what are you going to create next to fill up the world? A must book for any family's library.
