Before starting to read this book, I was checking Nathan’s toys. To my surprise, it was filled with plastic and a few wooden toys. I was thinking, how many of them can be recycled and how many will end up as waste. When we go to the beach, we find ample plastics floating in the water and few plastic wrappers in the sand. We talk about plastics to Nathan and how it destroys the environment. How much ever we try to avoid plastic, we are bound by their need.

This book gives detailed knowledge about plastic and how they are hurting the earth. It starts about how much we are surrounded by plastic, how they are made in the factory, who discovered it and can they be degradable or not. Further, the book says how we are hurting the planet earth and also the ocean animals. They have given steps on how we can sort the plastic and how we can recycle and reuse them.

I gave him different objects and asked him to separate plastic and non-plastic. He did a good job and separated them. I asked him, are you going to do the same for the garbage. He said as we have two dustbins in our home and he is going to trash waste in respective dustbins. I hope we all follow that to help our surroundings.

What are the steps we can use to reduce plastic? I use steel containers in our kitchen, cloth diapered Nathan consciously started getting toys and consciously not littering the places we visit.
One biggest hurdle is taking out. I really wanted to reduce that because of the plastic that was accumulating in my home.

What are the steps you have taken to reduce plastic and what is the biggest hurdle you are facing, just like me? Would love to know in the comments.
