Firefly home is an interactive book where the kid should help the firefly Florence to reach her home through a series of different adventures. Florence the firefly, got lost by following a trail of different light: she asks the readers to help her reach home. The readers should point her in the right direction and ask her not to get distracted by other bright lights. Will she get the help she needed?
A beautiful, interactive book that engages the kids and asks them to follow a set of directions. Each page says to follow instructions like flapping your hands or quickly turn the page or say loudly fly, Florence, fly! To help her reach her home safely. I loved how the author carried away each page and asked the reader to help the firefly to reach her home. The book ends with a goodnight message and can be read as a bedtime story.
This book is one of the favourites of Nathan and he was happy to explore a new bug ‘The Firefly’ and a shooting star. Nathan was so happy to know that firefly also has the same life cycle as his hungry caterpillar.
Few facts about fireflies,
- Fireflies are a type of beetle and there are almost 2000 species of them
- Not all fireflies can glow
- Scientists refer to firefly light as cold light
- Fireflies are declining now
The illustrations are magical and each page will definitely captivate the young readers. The internet is flooded with different firefly activity and one can adapt for a similar bookish play.
I would suggest exploring this book and adding it to your home library.
