So many parenting talks are all around my Instagram feed and I thought let’s give a pause to them and see how the fathers are parenting /raising the child. We may say, fathers, raising the kids is only done by Genz parents. But the animals or birds are doing it for years and years, and poor fellows don’t talk about gentle parenting or calm parenting or conscious parenting. (Too many parenting terms)

This book, A Father’s Love talks about how fathers take care of and love their babies. We often portray parenting done only by mothers and this book is very different from them all. Using rhyming, poetry and metaphors, each page shares a different colour and animal focusing on the father caring for their little ones.

We could find a penguin papa snuggling with his baby in the white snow. A lion dad playing with his cub in a yellow field, or a seahorse father protecting his young inside his pouch in the deep blue ocean. How pygmy marmosets carry infants on their backs or how father grey wolves provide food for their young and for mom. This book takes us around the animal kingdom.

The last page includes a brief paragraph about each animal and how it contributes to raising its young one. A very good originally illustrated book and must have on your bookshelf. There are a lot more similar illustrated books on the market, and this is such a cute original book.

With beautiful art that brings all of the dads and babies, and the love between them, to vivid, colourful life, this book is a celebration of the special bond that a father shares with his children. A perfect book for father’s day.
