How Holy Spirit Adorns Everything?

I was astonished by the gorgeousness of his adornment of all things after reading a wonderful piece of scripture from my daily bible reading: “How the holy spirit adorns everything”. If he is able to decorate the environment around us so exquisitely, why can’t he do the same for us?

Job 26: 13 says, by his spirit, he adorned the heavens

Let us take a moment to appreciate all that the Holy Spirit has adorned the sky with the sun shining brightly in the day, the glowing moon and stars in the night, the beautiful sunrise, the stunning sunset, and the clouds that look like cotton balls floating in the air. It’s amazing to me how He knows and calls each of His creations by name.

Isaiah 40:26 says, He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by the name. If he can keep track of all the stars, imagine his might and strength.

Psalm 147: 4,5 says, Great is our Lord and mighty in power, His understanding is infinite.

Now you may wonder if the Holy Spirit will only choose to beautify the heavens and the natural world, and not us.

Psalm 149: 4 tells us, For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; He adorns the humble with salvation.

So how can we let the holy spirit adorn us? Is the outward adornment going to help the holy spirit? No; A man requires an inner adornment. What is inner adornment?

Apostle Paul in 1 Peter 3:3,4 Do not let your adornment be merely outward- arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on of apparel; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God. This verse clearly talks about spiritual adornment.

In this wicked place, how do we make ourselves spiritually beautiful? The scriptures plainly state that God only loves those with a clean heart and spiritual beauty.

Isaiah 61:10 say I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he has clothed, me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Isaiah proclaims that Jesus is the bridegroom and that he is joyfully adorned with spiritual beauty.

Can we adorn our souls spiritually? Scriptures definitely state that God adorns the meek heart. We often spend much effort on our clothing, makeup, and physical appearances. I’m no different, but what if we clothed our souls in love? Then there would be much fewer people with cold hearts. What if we devoted more time to refining our hearts, removing our flaws so that we could demonstrate to others that we are lovable as Jesus is?

Let us take a short time to contemplate how we can adorn our lives with benevolence, sympathy, and an eagerness to assist others.

I will do my best to be kind and compassionate every day for the remainder of my life because the beauty inside us can never be taken away. It can be hard to live up to this ideal, but when we open ourselves to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we can be filled with humility and love.
