Who doesn’t love to play in the mud? The famous cartoon ‘Peppa pig’ made almost every toddler play in muddy puddles. We knew gooey mud comes after the rain. But, this book walks us through another season, where a cute toddler plays in the mud.
This book walks us through the end of winter and the start of spring. The ground thaws from the snow and the ice. The sun is up and the smell of the fresh sand fills up the sky. When the ground is gooey, what can you expect a toddler to do? They jump up and down in the muddy puddles.
I loved the illustrations of the book and it reminds me of Nathan playing in the mud. He still enjoys playing in the mud, but this book paved way for us to talk about snow, which is nil in our city. Mud is such a sensorial play and you will have a quiet time if the kid finds mud.
A very simple story about the mud and it’s good for few reads to younger children. I liked the bold colour combination pictures on each page and this will help the kid enjoy the read.
