This non-fiction picture book focuses on eight different animal habitats or ecosystems, including the arctic, the savannah, the forest, the rainforest, the north pole, a river, mountain caves, the African Savannah, and the cliff tops.  There is a short introduction to each ecosystem, followed by brief facts of the most common animals, insects, flora, and fauna found there at ground level. From loggerhead turtles to geckos to Narwhal to tree frogs, everything is covered.

The innovative split-page layout of this book allows readers to uncover a hidden world of nature, as they turn the half-pages. The flaps make this a fun interactive book and are a nice size for young hands.  A great addition to your non-fiction booklist!
