Books About Positive Behaviour By Elizabeth and Martine

Books are something that plays a huge role in our house. Every time Nathan throws a tantrum or when he hits us or pushes someone or throws a toy, he always gets reminded about the book we read. He is often taught to empathize with the characters and that’s pretty easy for us to remind him when his behaviour changes. Nathan is an active kid and he always loves to run around. These books always helped us to remind him about his behaviour in the park, among his fellow friends or while disciplining him.

Elizabeth and Martine’s has a series of behaviour books and we loved these three books so much. They are vibrant and are so simple to read.

FEET ARE NOT FOR KICKING

A vibrant and simple illustrated book that acts as a reminder to little kids. We can do enormous things using our feet and kids, when they get angry or excited, they use their hands first and then they kick anything.

This book says a constant reminder for such circumstances: ouch! Kicking hurts is the reminder that is said to be said when they are kicking others. The story takes us through a series of positive kicking activities, which we can do using our feet and then says, use your feet only for positive things.

HANDS ARE NOT FOR HITTING

This book is something I remind Nathan of often. He’s an active kid and when I discipline him, he does is raise his hand to hit me. Hence, this book comes in handy and I keep reminding him. This book is about what all you can do with your hands, other than hitting others in frustration.

TEETH ARE NOT FOR BITING

This story explains what teeth are for and how teeth should be used in the proper way. This story takes us through different emotions and what can you do when you are feeling angry or sad. Instead of biting others, one can divert the kids and use the words Ouch! Biting hurts.

This is a perfect book for toddlers who are teething and always have an urge to bite something.

There are 8 books in this series and we have read three books among them, as these books were relevant to Nathan’s behaviour. The whole series is,

  • Hands are not for hitting
  • Teeth are not for biting
  • Feet are not for kicking
  • Words are not for hurting
  • Pacifiers are not forever
  • Diapers are not forever
  • Germs are not for sharing
  • Tails are not for Pulling

A beautiful series of books with realistic expressions of children on each page. This book helped us a lot and read this series if you want to help your kid gently.
