DAY 17 WISEMAN

After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Mathew 2: 9-11

These 3 Kings came out of Herald’s palace and followed the star. The star took them to a stable and that’s where they found the newborn king. Sometimes I wonder how joyful they would have felt to see the newborn king.

After coming into the house, and seeing the Baby Jesus with Mary, his mother, they fell to the ground and worshipped Him. These men knew that Jesus was no ordinary child. He was not simply born to be a king but was the promised Prince of Peace. He was the One Who was anointed by God to be the King of kings and the Lord of lords, Who alone is worthy of worship and praise.
Then, opening their treasures, these Wise men presented Him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Many suggest that the richness of gold represents Christ’s kingship and glory, The beautiful perfume of frankincense is said to signify his sacrifice, priesthood and perfection, while the bitter taste of myrrh depicts Him as Prophet and represents his suffering and death on the cross.

We read That’s not my elf.

A beautiful series of touch-and-feel books. Each page in the book has different textures and it acts as a sensory play for little hands. Nathan loved touching each page and he wanted to know whether Elf and Santa would come to deliver gifts for Christmas.
