DAY 16 WISEMAN

When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Mathew 2: 10-11

After coming into the house, and seeing the Lord Jesus with Mary, his mother, they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. These men knew that Jesus was no ordinary child. He was not simply born to be a king but was the promised Prince of Peace. He was the One Who was anointed by God to be the King of kings and the Lord of lords, Who alone is worthy of worship and praise.

Then, opening their treasures, these Wise men presented Him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Many suggest that the richness of gold represents Christ’s kingship and glory. The beautiful perfume of frankincense is said to signify His sacrifice, priesthood and perfection, while the bitter taste of myrrh depicts Him as Prophet, and represents His suffering and death on the cross.

We read the story The Perfect Gift.

A beautiful heartwarming story between two mice. A little squeak and a Big squeak.

Little squeak found a beautiful acorn and hid it under a tree to give to big squeaks for Christmas. On Christmas eve, when he went to take that gift, it slipped from his hand and fell. He began to cry and felt bad that his best gift had run away.

To his surprise, a big squeak said, let me tell you about a perfect gift. The big squeak tells about the moments he spends with the little squeak beautifully.  He talks about their laughter, the love in the little one’s eyes, the trust he has in him… The list goes on. He makes the little one realize he’s the best and perfect gift for Christmas.

The illustrator has done beautiful work and each picture tells the reaction of big and little squeaks beautifully.
