DAY 13 DONKEY
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
Zechariah 9:9
What do you do when someone compliments you as” you look like a donkey” We feel glad. No, we will be grumpy and we will not take that compliment, right? But in the above verse: the king will ride a donkey, it says. It’s unusual for a king to ride a donkey. It’s not a majestic animal, like a horse, it’s slow and used to carrying loads. Then why did Jesus use a donkey to ride in the streets of Jerusalem? I think to help all the lowly-considered people of society and to fulfill the prophecy of the prophets. The donkey is still remembered and it still says in the Bible, “Jesus rode the donkey” We should be humble like a donkey and in the right moment we will be lifted in our life.
