DAY 9: OXEN

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

Hebrew 9:12

Before Jesus shed his blood, the blood of the oxen was used to forgive sins. But he took the cross just for us and shed every drop of blood to forgive our sins.

Just right for Christmas is what we chose to read today.

In this celebration of the joy of giving one snowy Christmas eve, a king bought some soft red cloth to make the perfect Christmas gift for his daughter. He does not know that leftover cloth will be used to make presents for many people in his kingdom. Even the last teeny bit of cloth is made into a scarf, just right for a mouse.

What a beautiful story filled with lots of anticipation. The anticipation was so good that we were curious to know who was taking the fabric waste and how they were making a gift. We learned a lot of new names, like a cloak, jacket, hat, gloves, and scarf. Beautiful illustrations are perfect for the season.
